Thunder Bay Senior Baseball
has had a proud tradition of running a program of quality, competitive local
baseball since the early 1920’s. It has had its up and downs through good
times, depression, and war and has managed to survive, through it all. Why? Probably
because it is a sport that a player can pick up when he or she is young and can
be played into adulthood. This is where our league fits in. We have a variety
of players with varying degrees of skill. Players that wish to stay in Thunder Bay and work or go to school, but still wish to play
baseball juggle a family, work, school and everything else just to get to the
ball park. We have a dedicated core of ball players that, on a daily basis find
their way to Baseball Central, don a uniform and come out to compete. Why would
players put themselves through all of this just to play a game? It’s called the
“love of the game”. Thunder
Bay has had a
lot of really talented baseball players come up through our ranks and we are
proud to have had a place for them to play. Many players in the TBSBA have gone
on to gain athletic and scholastic scholarships, some
have gone onto pro and semi-pro careers and some are working their way toward
the same. Other players in the league compete just for the camaraderie and to
stay fit. No matter what, we (TBSBA) are proud to be a part of it all
I wish all the players the
best of luck throughout the 2005 season and look forward to the finals when the
best 2 teams battle it out for the league title. The players are not playing for
world series rings or cash bonuses, just pride and the
will to be the City’s best. “GOOD LUCK”.
